MEET THE FINAL 4!

Challenge Guidelines

WHO CAN REGISTER?

Any U.S. middle or high school student from 13 to 19 years old. Younger? Sorry, your gonna have to take this one up with certain politicians first...

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Register for the challenge on our REGISTRATION PAGE. Upload your file to submit your idea. You have until February 1, 2013 to enter.

WHAT DO I SUBMIT?

The rules are: there are no rules. Ok maybe there's a few. Your idea needs to improve the lives of your fellow students (ok, your teachers too). Something that promotes greener, more sustainable living and learning in your school.

As long as you get the idea across in a clear and organized fashion, then you may submit it in any form you'd like. Photo, drawing, video, whatever. Just BE CREATIVE.

You can submit using any of the file types listed below.
.pdf, .jpg, .tif, .png, .mp3, .mp4, .mov

REPRESENT YOUR REGION

THERE ARE FOUR REGIONSNortheast, South, West & Midwest.

Each team will represent their region, not their school, so please do not forget to put where you are from while submitting.

Hawaii and Alaska, we didn't forget about you - you're in the West. Any U.S. territory is also welcome to participate - just join your closest geographical region.

TEAM STRUCTURE

Teams are to be made up of 1 - 4 students. Want more? Well, too bad. You're just going to have to make a new team. You can only be on one team but there is NO LIMIT to the amount of teams per school, so tell all of your friends!

Each team must select a team leader. If the team wins an award, the team leader would receive the entire award amount on behalf of their team. We'd like to stay drama free over here.

LAWS YOU SAY?

Right. Don't break 'em. School rules are also the lay of the land. But as the proverb goes, a good argument will bend far before it breaks.

WHAT ARE THE JUDGES LOOKING FOR?

1. ORIGINALITY

The more unique and out of the box, the better.

2. CLARITY

The judges need to understand what your project is, what it does, and how it will improve your environment.

3. PLAN TO BUILD

If your idea is chosen for the 2nd round, then you will have to bring it to life in order to compete in the 3rd round. Make sure a good part of your idea is something that can be created under $1,000. Because that's all you get from us to build it. At least this time around.
